With his new album, Battle Studies, being released on November 17th, John Mayer has announced two upcoming shows around the holidays with the "elusive" John Mayer Trio including bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Steve Jordan.
They'll be playing at the Copley Symphony Hall in San Diego on December 29 and on New Year's Eve show in Las Vegas at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
Both concerts will raise money for veterans' charities including Military Outreach Ministry Camp Pendleton and the Veterans Health Research Institute.
Mayer's also planning his North American tour to begin in early 2010.
